Burnout…Bikes…Badass

If you’ve been hesitating to pick up a copy of Burnout Paradise, now you really have no reason to. You really wouldn’t think developer Criterion Games was in a partnership with Electronic Arts, with this latest endeavor to please fans. Given that EA is such a huge company, FREE downloadable content (DLC) presumably isn’t there biggest concern. Luckily enough, they must have given a nod to Criterion to go ahead and give Paradise owners some sweet new additions to an already pulse-pounding game. Here’s the list of the three upcoming expansions and some brief details on what will be featured:

“Cagney" Update

• 70 new Freeburn online challenges, ranging from Online Stunt Run, Marked Man and Road Rage modes
• Improved SD Rendering
• Custom Soundtracks
• New Cars
• 1080i Support Added for the PS3 Version
• Available July 10 (PS3) and August 4, 2008 (Xbox 360)

“Davis" Update

• Addition of Motorcycles! W-w-w-what?! Two Bikes Immediately Available in the Junk Yard
• New Locations Tailored to the Presence of Motorcycles
• New Weather and Day/Night Cycles. Finally you won’t be driving in daytime only!
• 70 New Motorcycle Specific Challenges
• Available this September!

“Eastwood" Update

• Addition of Islands Connected to Paradise City for More Burnout Mayhem!
• Available this Fall!
  
  I’m most definitely looking forward to the addition of motorcycles to this franchise. It’s the first time bikes have been featured in this game, and I’m really looking forward to how they interact with the rest of the Burnout environment.To download and install these updates simply have your console connected to the internet, turn on Burnout: Paradise and follow the on-screen instructions.
