I just received replacement drives fro VP Games for my 360s, and the firmware rev is 27AC.  None of the documentation for flashing roms references this rom rev… they only reference Xtreme firmware for Hitachi v36 / v46 / v47 / v59 XBox 360 V1.1

What firmware rev do I use to update this drive?

I have the drive working by swapping out the circuitry so the original circuitry and bios is correctly identified by the XBox… but I have another XBox trhat came with a different DVD drive.  If I flash this Hitachi drive, is it going to work in an XBox that shipped with another make of DVD?

I believe Xtreme 1.6 is out for the Hitachi, I do know the Hitachi drives are the harder ones to flash.  To put the Hitachi in a 360 that had a different DVD drive in the first place is not too hard.  I do know you will need the dvd drive code taken from the old DVD drive first.  Then when flashing the new drive you use that drive code with the last Extreme version out for the drive your using.  There is lots of sites out there with tutorials, I am sure they won’t let me mention them here but if you need to know just pm me and I will gladly help anyway I can.

I have successfully flashed six Xbox 360’’s with three different types of DVD drives.  I also have successfully backup all 43 of my Xbox 360 games.

Not at all! We try to provide what we can but please feel free to post any and all links to tutorials/other websites that you would like.  Flashing can be difficult and that’s just what these forums are here for - helping people out smile
