The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time [N64]

my rating 10/10

This game has won so many awards and has even been rated the best game of all time. Anyways the story follows whatever you name your character but by default it’s “Link” who lives in a forest but seems different than all the children there, you don’t have a fairy. Instructed by the Great Deku Tree to help Link, Navi the fairy comes to link and says the great Deku tree has something important to tell Link… For the time the graphics were top of the line but what I think matters most is the story, which is very interesting. The soundtrack is great and very catchy. And lastly, the characters are very easy to identify with. Overall my favorite part of this game is the things it teaches you, good overcomes evil, and just because your different doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you.

Thanks for reading!

How To Get Your NES or SNES USB Controller to Work On Your PC

Congratulations, you have an NES USB or SNES USB Controller. Before you can use it, it needs to be set up and calibrated. This tutorial will explain how to calibrate your new controller.

To Start:

1) Plug your controller into the USB port
2) Go to Control Panel
3) Go to Game Controllers
4) You should see a device listed (e.g. “USB Gamepad")
5) Select the device and click “properties.” This brings you to a test screen which lets you test the output of the controller

Calibrating the Buttons:

1) Press each button one at a time. For each button:
a) If one number lights up - the button is functioning correctly
b) If no number lights up - the button is broken
c) If more than one number lights up - the button is broken

The Directional Pad:

1) Look at the top section labeled “Axes”
2) You will see a white box with a “+” inside
3) You will need to do two things:
a) See if the directional pad is calibrated
b) Test that the directional pad works

Calibration

1) If the “+” is in the center of the box, it is calibrated correctly (proceed to step 2)
2) If the “+” is at the top, bottom, left, right, or in a corner, you need to calibrate the directional pad:
a) Click the settings tab
b) Click “Calibrate”
c) Follow the instructions
d) If the calibration worked and the “+” is now in the center, proceed to step 2
e) If the calibration did not work, your directional pad is broken

Testing the directional pad

1) Press the directional pad in every direction, one at a time, including diagonal
2) For each direction, the “+” should move in that direction within the box
3) When you release the directional pad, the “+” should move back to the center
4) For each direction:
a) If the “+” moves correctly and returns to the center when you release, the directional pad is working
b) if the “+” moves correctly but does not return to the center - the directional pad is broken
c) if the “+” does not move correctly - the directional pad is broken

If you have done the above tests, and your controller is working, proceed to How To Get Your Emulator to Recognize Your NES or SNES USB Controller

How To Get Your Emulator to Recognize Your NES or SNES USB Controller

Congratulations, you have an NES USB or SNES USB Controller. This tutorial will explain what to do if your emulator is not recognizing your controller.

1) First, verify that your controller works. See the forum post on How To Get Your NES or SNES USB Controller to Work On Your PC

2) If your controller is working but is not working with the emulator or flash game, the easiest solution is to convert your gamepad buttons into keyboard keys. This will only work if your game can use keyboard keys to play.

3) If your game can use keyboard keys to play, you will need to download software that converts joypad input to keyboard input.

4) If you are using Windows operating system, you can use the “JoyToKey” program which is available for download here. (If the link has stopped working, please notify support@vpgames.com.

My rating 8/10

This is the second installment in the banjo-kazooie series. This time (in the first game it ends with you putting a boulder on Grunty, Grunty’s sisters come to help revive her then to fight Banjo and Kazooie), the first thing that happens is banjo and kazooie and their friends are playing a card game and suddenly bottles (one of the characters) says hey guys Grunty’s outside! No one believes him, so he goes outside and Grunty casts a spell which kills bottles then she goes off to her cave/castle. This game has a great storyline and fun and challenging mini-games it’s sound is okay but still very well done. Overall, this is a very fun game

Thanks!

my rating 9/10

If anyone remembers the days of the Nintendo 64, this was one of the best games, in my opinion it was comical, it was fun and easy to understand. The story is about a bear named “Banjo” and his buddy Kazooie the bird. Basically what happens is this evil witch named grunty asks her boiling pot “who’s the prettiest of all the land?” and instead of saying her he says it’s banjo’s sister tooty, so Grunty’s minion builds a machine that will give her the beauty of tooty, but first she needs to get tooty in there. So she flies out of her cave/castle and bearnappes her, all while banjo is sleeping… overall this is a definite game to try.

Thank you!
