Speed Run Mode

Unlock speed run mode (for each chapter) by completing the story mode.
Hint: Secret Achievements

Secret Achievement (Sweet Goodbye): When approaching an enemy, jump by them, quick turn, and press attack. Faith will give the enemy a rude gesture (British, not American).

Secret Achievement (Hey, its’a me!): This Mario Brothers task is done by landing atop an enemy, as as Faith’s feet touches the enemy, press attack. Jumping is required to give Faith the force needed to end the stomp.

How To Get Your NES or SNES USB Controller to Work On Your PC

Congratulations, you have an NES USB or SNES USB Controller. Before you can use it, it needs to be set up and calibrated. This tutorial will explain how to calibrate your new controller.

To Start:

1) Plug your controller into the USB port
2) Go to Control Panel
3) Go to Game Controllers
4) You should see a device listed (e.g. “USB Gamepad")
5) Select the device and click “properties.” This brings you to a test screen which lets you test the output of the controller

Calibrating the Buttons:

1) Press each button one at a time. For each button:
a) If one number lights up - the button is functioning correctly
b) If no number lights up - the button is broken
c) If more than one number lights up - the button is broken

The Directional Pad:

1) Look at the top section labeled “Axes”
2) You will see a white box with a “+” inside
3) You will need to do two things:
a) See if the directional pad is calibrated
b) Test that the directional pad works

Calibration

1) If the “+” is in the center of the box, it is calibrated correctly (proceed to step 2)
2) If the “+” is at the top, bottom, left, right, or in a corner, you need to calibrate the directional pad:
a) Click the settings tab
b) Click “Calibrate”
c) Follow the instructions
d) If the calibration worked and the “+” is now in the center, proceed to step 2
e) If the calibration did not work, your directional pad is broken

Testing the directional pad

1) Press the directional pad in every direction, one at a time, including diagonal
2) For each direction, the “+” should move in that direction within the box
3) When you release the directional pad, the “+” should move back to the center
4) For each direction:
a) If the “+” moves correctly and returns to the center when you release, the directional pad is working
b) if the “+” moves correctly but does not return to the center - the directional pad is broken
c) if the “+” does not move correctly - the directional pad is broken

If you have done the above tests, and your controller is working, proceed to How To Get Your Emulator to Recognize Your NES or SNES USB Controller

How To Get Your Emulator to Recognize Your NES or SNES USB Controller

Congratulations, you have an NES USB or SNES USB Controller. This tutorial will explain what to do if your emulator is not recognizing your controller.

1) First, verify that your controller works. See the forum post on How To Get Your NES or SNES USB Controller to Work On Your PC

2) If your controller is working but is not working with the emulator or flash game, the easiest solution is to convert your gamepad buttons into keyboard keys. This will only work if your game can use keyboard keys to play.

3) If your game can use keyboard keys to play, you will need to download software that converts joypad input to keyboard input.

4) If you are using Windows operating system, you can use the “JoyToKey” program which is available for download here. (If the link has stopped working, please notify support@vpgames.com.

How To Replace The Analog Joystick on PSP - A Step-By-Step Guide

WARNING: OPENING UP YOUR PSP WILL VOID THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY. VPGAMES.COM ASSUMES NO LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR PSP IF YOU DECIDE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

These instructions are for replacing the analog thumbstick on the PSP-1000 series. This is surprisingly easy to do.

What You Will Need:

1) A PSP-sized philips-head screwdriver
2) A clean, dust-free area
3) About 15 minutes

Step 1: Removing the screws

The first step is to remove the screws, which allows you to open up the faceplate and access the joystick. There are 5 screws that must be removed for this step. It is a good idea not to perform this repair over a rug, because the screws you will remove are extremely tiny, and if you drop one you will be looking for it in the rug for hours! (Believe me, I’ve done it)

The first two can be found easily - just flip your PSP around so the screen is facing away from you, and look on the right panel. There are two deep holes which contain the screws to be removed. The first screw to remove is 1/4 inch underneath the “L” trigger button, and the second screw to remove on this panel is about two inches below it.

Next, remove the battery cover on the left-side panel. Then take the battery out. After taking the battery out, there are two screws that need to be removed. These lie underneath the battery.

The first one is right between the “N” and the “Y” in the SONY wording, as seen below:

http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/hi/71/71296/psp_analog_repair_1.jpg

To access the second screw here you will need to remove the warranty sticker. Remember, this step officially voids your warranty. Once the sticker has been removed, the location of the second screw to unscrew is found below:

http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/hi/71/71296/psp_analog_repair_2.jpg

The fifth and final screw to remove before we can take off the faceplate is directly to the right of the barcode on the underside of the unit. Once this screw has been removed, the PSP’s faceplate can be easily lifted off from the base. Remove the faceplate and set it aside, being careful not to let any dust or dirt touch the PSP’s sensitive LCD screen.

Step 2: Removing and replacing the old joystick

Now that you have access to the joystick, you will need to remove it from the faceplate. But first, it would be a good idea to pop off the tiny thumb grip on top of the joystick, as seen below. This can be done with either the screwdriver or your fingernail. This piece is not delicate so don’t be afraid to use a little force.

http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/hi/71/71296/psp_analog_repair_3.jpg

Next, simply remove the two screws holding the joystick in place. Keep these separate from the screws you removed previously, as they are a different size.

http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/hi/71/71296/psp_analog_repair_4.jpg

Finally, take the old joystick out and put it aside. Place the new joystick in exactly the same position the old one was in, and snap the thumb grip back onto the joystick, and screw the joystick back onto the faceplate.

Now all you have to do is Step 1 in reverse and you are done! A brand new joystick for your PSP. That wasn’t so hard now, was it?

If you are still stuck and would like to send your PSP in for repair, well, you already voided the warranty, so sending it into Sony won’t do you any good! But in all seriousness, if you are stuck, or don’t want to attempt this on your own, you can always email vpgames repair services for a price quote at: support at vpgames dot com

Thanks and happy gaming!

How to use your Datel Action Replay for Gamecube and Wii

So, you have your new Datel Action Replay (AR) for your Gamecube or Wii (for Gamecube games), but you don’t know just how to use it? It’s a common problem, so don’t worry! Here’s how you do it:

1) Insert the AR disc into your Gamecube or Wii (if you’re trying to play a Gamecube game on your Wii). Plug it into Slot B.
2) Insert the AR disc into your GC or Wii and it’ll boot up. If you’re trying to get an out of region (say, if you live in the U.S. but want to play a Japan region release), then click on FreeLoader and follow the instructions.
3) What is more likely, though, is that you’ll want to go straight to “Action Replay Codes.”
4) Find the game you want cheats for, select the cheats. What essentially happens now is the codes found on the AR disc are loaded onto the AR memory card, for later use.
5) Once the memory card is filled with the selected codes, you’ll be prompted to take out the AR disc and insert the game you want to use the codes for.
6) Pretty much straight forward from here on out!

I’d wish you luck with your game, but with these awesome codes I doubt you’ll need it!
