This post covers the most common issues with SwapMagic v3.6 Discs for Playstation 2

Q: I cannot play DVD games, what can I do?
A: There are many reason causing this issue. Anyway, here are some suggestions:
1 Try to use another brand of DVD disc
2 Try to burn backup games in a lower speed (not more than 4X) which helps the readability of disc in PS2
3 Make sure you use DVD Swap Magic to boot DVD games and use CD Swap Magic to boot CD games
4 Try to unplug the power cord from your PS2 console and plug it back 5 minutes later and then try again
5 If the above methods cannot fix the problem, please try an original disc to test if it works, or take your Swap Magic to test on another console if possible

Q: I just received my swap magic 3.6 disc set The CD version works fine, however when I try to load up the DVD version of swap magic, the load program screen does not come up. I can tell that the PS2 is not even spinning the disc to read it. Did I get a bad disc?
A: Please test your disc with your friend console to see whether it boot up or not If the disc cannot boot up, then it assures you got the bad disc. Please email us at support@vpgames.com for a replacement disc.

Q: I just bought a new PS2 slim, I opened it then installed the magic switch according to the video on this site, I booted it up for the first time ever and set up the time, date, etc… I expected it to spin the swap magic disc and bring me to the screen where I can swap the disc for a DVD-R, But it did not do this.
A: Please install the magic3 switch without inserting any disc, After installation of the magic3 switch please switch on your console, If the switch installed properly, you will see the laser lens moving toward to the center. Also please check the installation of the tool A, there is a micro switch and you need to use the tool A to press it down

Q: Why do I get black and white display when I play imported games?
A: Please bootup your PS2 console with Swap Magic. On the Swap Magic screen, choose “Video Mode” and turn it to PAL / NTSC according to your console, then load game when you are finished

Q: Will any cheat devices (such as Codebreaker, Action Replay, Gameshark, etc) work with the swap magic? I have backup games and want to use the swap magic to play them but, I also want to use cheat codes from the device on these games from time to time. Which device will work if any.
A: Gameshark is 100% compatible with Swapmagic. First you should set
the cheat code in Gameshark, And then you can boot the console by Swapmagic3
and play your game disc,

Q: Will Swap Magic3 work with DVD+R backups?
A: You can use either DVD+ or DVD- disc for your backup, but make sure you
need to use the IMAGE COPY mode for backing up your disc

How to Play DVDs from All Regions on your PS2 using Datel’s Region-X

This post explains how to get your Playstation 2 to play DVDs from any region using the new Region-X Import DVD Enabler by Datel.

1. Insert your DVD Region X CD into your PS2’s drive tray, then reboot your PS2 console
2. Once the software CD has booted up again, you will be taken to a screen with buttons numbered from 1 to 6. From this screen you can play a DVD movie, and when using an RGB (component cable) you can play in high quality full color.
3. Each number represents a different DVD region - USA movies are Region 1, so you would want to select “1” to play discs for this region.
4. If your movie is from a different region then select the appropriate region number for your disc:
  - Region 1 = USA/Canada
- Region 2 = Japan, Europe, and South Africa
- Region 3 = Southeast Asia & Hong Kong
- Region 4 = Australia & New Zealand
- Region 5 = Russia & Africa
- Region 6 = China
5. Simply highlight the appropriate numbered button using your controller or DVD Remote Control Press “X” to confirm your selection
6. You will be prompted to remove your DVD Region X disc and insert your DVD movie disc. The PS2 will now play your movie with no problems.
7. Region 0 discs can be played without DVD Region X, but again, the picture might be in NTSC depending on which country the disc is from. Some music, special interest and adult movies etc are Region 0.
8. It’s also worth getting a S-Video lead if your TV has the appropriate input - the picture quality is significantly better than with the composite/SCART combination lead supplied with the console - and games will look better too!

If you have further questions or trouble, please post your question in the forum. Alternatively, you can contact Datel’s customer service department at 0906-550-1236. This is a UK phone number, international rates will apply

I for one absolutely loved this game! Sure mixing Disney characters with Final Fantasy characters is kinda a weird concept but once you get past that you realize that you can play through storyline you could only “pretend” to be in. This Game follows the story of Sora a keyblade master. Once a peaceful life on “Destiny Islands” soon to be shattered by the destructible forces of the “Heartless” (monsters without hearts.) The next thing Sora knows he in a unknown town with Pluto (Disney character) licking his face. Overall the game play is not very tedious the controls are quick and easy to learn but are easy enough for the newest gamer to the hardcore fan to enjoy. Lastly, this game’s audience could range from 8+ to as far as 15+ or mabye even higher depending on your love for RPG’s.

Thanks for reading!

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories begins just like the original as Harry Mason is searching for his daughter through the snowy streets of the haunted Silent Hill where he will encounter a cast of unique characters. However, this time, players are equipped with only a flashlight and cell phone to get story information, solve puzzles and navigate the darkness while escaping the demons that lurk among them. In addition, a psych-profiling feature has been added to analyze players and adjust itself to their actions, making this the most customizable and terrifying survival horror title to date.

Please find below the all-new character details:

    *

Harry Mason - While driving through the spooky streets of Silent Hill, Harry’s car skids on a patch of ice and veers off the road into a ditch. Upon waking from the crash, he realizes his daughter Cheryl is missing and sets out into the dark, freezing night to find her.
*

Cheryl Mason - Harry’s daughter who has mysteriously disappeared, causing him to brave the streets of Silent Hill. She’s a cheerful girl who loves her father very much.
*

Cybil Bennett - After years on the police force, Cybil has seen a lot of crazy things, but she’s not quite sure what to make of Harry Mason. She decides early on to keep an eye on him, and their paths cross repeatedly.
*

Dr. K - A friendly, relatable therapist who shows up periodically to evaluate the player. His therapy sessions consist of interactive psychological test which players will actually take part in.
*

Michelle - Michelle meets Harry at her High School reunion, however he doesn’t remember it. Tired of waiting to meet up with her boyfriend, she decides to aid Harry in finding his daughter.
*

Dahlia - A tough, street-wise young girl, Dahlia seems to know quite a bit about Harry. The fact that he can’t remember anything about her confuses Dahlia as much as it does Harry.
*

Lisa - Lisa is a nurse at Alchemilla Hospital. Although she’s young, lines of experience are already evident on her face. Despite her cynicism, Harry finds himself protective of Lisa and offers to lend her a hand.

This is the second installment of the highly successful “Star Wars Battlefront.” In this game you have the new option, after a certain amount of kills, to play as a jedi. Also instead of playing as only humans or droids you can play as Gungans (Jar-Jar-
Binks) Wookie’s (Chewbacca) or even Jawa’s! (the hooded guys with yellow eyes.) The thing this game lacks is the new system of how you can only fire to a certain amount then your gun “overheats” which isn’t exactly good if your in a intense online firefight! Oh yea i forgot to mention it’s online as well. Overall, I thought that the original was better than the sequel but that’s just me.

Thanks!

This game puts you in the eyes of a solider in the world of star wars, more specifically a general in all of the wars in Star Wars
the clone wars, and most of the fight scenes in the movies. This game can be played in 1st/3rd person so if you want to pretend it’s like halo you can. Also their are many solider types like a sniper, heavy gunner, and a rapid fire type. The game features the soundtracks from the movies and they sound very nice. Lastly, this is a great game if you enjoy shooters.

In a galaxy far, far away....there was LEGO STAR WARS 2: The original trilogy is a Lego remake of the star wars classics. It features over 40+ characters to choose from and comical cut-scenes. The story follows the story of Luke Skywalker and his quest after his uncle’s home is destroyed, to fight the empire, which is the evil forces of this story. The graphics remind me of the old 98 game “Lego Island” but a little more graphically shaped up. Final Words: If you like Lego’s and Star Wars, this is the game for you.

Ever wanted to be a rockstar? well, now you can! Guitar Hero is a popular game in which you play air guitar and play the notes on screen. This has sparked interest in Non-gamers and gamers alike because of it’s revolutionary design and gameplay. also it’s more fun to play with a friend because you can earn double the cash at concerts! (concerts are the missions in the game) Last words: This game is very cool and it’s pretty awsome to see your character light the guitar on fire.
